Sami wins IFBB Amateur Championship
The first model for Muscle Zone Productions has achieved even more recognition in the bodybuilding community.
Sami al-Haddad won the overall title at the 2011 Amateur Mr. Olympia contest held in London, England on March 19th, 2011. This was the first ever inaugural Mr. Olympia IFBB Amateur Championships which attracted dozens of top IFBB amateur bodybuilders from around the world.
Sami was the winner of his 90kg weight class which qualified him to compete for the overall title and faced fierce challenges from winners of other categories. The final challenge presented Sami from Bahrain against top competitors from Spain, Poland, United Kingdom, Turkey and Czech Republic.
Sami is a very well-known bodybuilder and two-time IFBB world champion in 2009 and 2010, but did not win the top prize at the 2011 Arnold Amateur contest which was held only s few weeks before the London event.
It was a difficult decision for the judges but the final result clearly concluded that Sami presented the most complete physique, combining perfect body lines with top muscle density and details.
Immediately after the Amateur competition, Sami participated in the semifinals of the British Pro Grand Prix. Though his term as Amateur champ was very brief, Sami continues to have a very bright future in the bodybuilding world.
